Paddy Ashdown visited Salisbury on 5th November, to address a packed meeting in Bishop Wordsworth School chapel. The audience ranged from party members and supporters to sixth form politics society members, and there was standing room only.
Lord Ashdown began by outlining the major challenges faced by humanity today: global warming, the financial crisis, and the potential for global conflict.
But he spent the main part of the evening answering questions from the audience. Paddy tackled issues as varied as MPs' expenses and the problems faced by British forces in Afghanistan, all with inspiring vigour. He encouraged the audience to use their strong feelings about current events to get engaged and help address the issues we all face.
